Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued two significant orders for the distribution of criminal cases in the Srinagar wing of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The orders aim to assign criminal work involving punishment over 10 years and up to 10 years among various law officers in the region.
In a government order (No. 3376-JK(LD) of 2025), the administration has directed the allocation of criminal acquittal appeals, cases, and Habeas-Corpus petitions involving punishment of more than 10 years to designated law officers. The assigned law officers are Abdul Rashid Malik (Senior Additional Advocate General), Alla-Ud-Din Ganai (Additional Advocate General), Bikramdeep Singh, and Hakeem Amaan Ali (Deputy Advocate General), each responsible for specific districts, including Baramulla, Srinagar, Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Kupwara, and Bandipora.
Similarly, in another order (No. 3377-JK(LD) of 2025), the government allocated criminal work involving punishment of up to 10 years. Senior Additional Advocate General Mohsin-Ul-Showkat Qadri, Deputy Advocate Generals Bikramdeep Singh and Hakeem Amaan Ali, along with Government Advocates, have been assigned cases across various districts, including Srinagar, Budgam, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Shopian, Anantnag, Kupwara, and Bandipora.
This new arrangement aims to streamline the handling of criminal cases in the region and ensure the effective administration of justice.
The orders are a temporary measure and will remain in effect until further instructions are issued.
