Hunt for main accused on, CDRs being searched as several phones recovered

Jammu: In the latest development of the Gangyal firing incident, Jammu and Kashmir Police today apprehended a gangster from Belicharana area in Satwari and recovered one country made pistol, one dagger and five mobile handsets from him.
Official sources identified him as Mohd Ashraf of Kriyani Talab at Narwal Bala.
It is reported that he was involved in the firing with one of the key accused Harjot Singh alias Anda, resident of Digiana Camp, known for his involvement in gang-related and organised criminal activities. Mohd Ahraf is being grilled by police to know the whereabouts of the main accused Harjot Singh.
Police are also searching Call Details of the five mobile handsets seized from him.
Worthwhile to mention here that two persons who happened to be known history-sheeters, Vikramjeet Singh alias Vicky alias Vikram, son of Mohan Singh, resident of Model Town Gangyal (currently residing in Sehora, Jammu), and Paramjeet Singh alias Pankaj alias Murga, son of Harnam Singh, resident of Shiv Nagar Sehora, Tehsil Bishnah, who were released from jail after undergoing PSA on 31st of March 2025, got injured in a broad daylight firing incident that took place on Friday afternoon in Gangyal area.
Following the incident, a case FIR No. 68/2025 under sections 109, 111, 191(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and 3/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Gangyal. Later police seized the Swift Dzire vehicle (JK08C-1955) used in the attack.
The registered owner of the vehicle was also detained by police for questioning to ascertain involvement and trace the chain of events.
