SRINAGAR: At least five fire incidents were reported across different parts of the Kashmir Valley in the last 24 hours, with Fire and Emergency Services personnel successfully containing all blazes and preventing any loss of life, officials said.
According to the Fire and Emergency Services Department, the incidents were reported from Sopore and Kupwara districts and involved residential houses, cowsheds and a temporary shed. Swift response by fire tenders and ground staff ensured that the fires were brought under control in time, limiting damage to the property.
The affected locations included a single-storey residential house in Sher Colony C in Sopore, a cowshed at Helmetpora in Check Kupwara, a double-storey residential house at Narikoot in Kalaroos area of Kupwara, a single-storey cowshed at Hempora Qazibad in Kupwara, and a temporary shed at Ibrahim Colony in Arampora area of Sopore.
Officials said fire crews faced challenging conditions while tackling the blazes, but managed to prevent the fires from spreading to nearby structures. No casualties were reported in any of the incidents.
The department said the timely and coordinated action of firefighters played a crucial role in safeguarding lives and property, reiterating the preparedness of the force to handle emergencies across the Valley.
Fire and Emergency Services also appealed to the public to cooperate during such incidents by keeping roads clear and avoiding obstruction to fire tenders, stressing that public support is vital for effective emergency response.
