Jammu: A devastating fire engulfed a house in Kunjwani, reducing everything to ashes while the residents were away at work. The tragic incident left the family shattered, as they returned home only to find their dream house completely destroyed.
According to Sunil, one of the two family members living in the house, both were on their respective jobs when the incident occurred.
“I came back around 8 PM and saw the house burning. I immediately called for help, and the fire brigade arrived soon after, but the damage was already done,” he said.
All household items, clothes, important documents, and even the kitchen supplies were completely destroyed in the fire.
“We have already faced many hardships in life. This house was our last hope, and now it’s gone,” Sunil added, his voice filled with despair.
Neighbors and the local community rushed to the spot to help douse the flames before the fire brigade arrived. While no casualties were reported, the financial loss is immense, and the family now finds itself without shelter or resources.
The family is now appealing to the government and the public for assistance in rebuilding their lives. “We are poor, and we have no one else to turn to. Any support, big or small, will help us stand on our feet again,” Sunil pleaded.
