AUG 23: In a flagrant heist that shook the entire area overnight, eight shops, two residential houses and a temple were robbed by unidentified burglars in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
It is learnt that the incident occurred in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday at Maitra Chowk.
Following the incident, locals fumed over and staged a vigorous protest demanding the arrest of culprits on a war-footing basis. The locals also pressed for securing the areas from such incidents wherein they pitched 24×7 vigilance.
Reports suggest, theft occurred in two general stores, a shoe store, a hardware store, a workshop, and a garment store. Besides, both the houses burgled by the thieves were closed for the past few days.
