JAMMU, May 5: The Meteorological Department on Tuesday said that weather across Jammu and Kashmir is expected to remain mostly dry in the coming days, with only a brief spell of light rain likely later this week.
Kashmir MeT Director Mukhtar Ahmad said that the recent rainfall and gusty winds occurred as forecast, but no significant rain is expected today. He added that dry conditions are likely to continue till May 9.
He further said that between May 10 and 12, the weather may turn partly cloudy with chances of light rain and mild winds at a few places. “No major weather changes are expected till May 15 except this short spell,” he said.
The MeT department has also forecast a rise in temperatures from Wednesday onwards. Farmers have been advised to resume their activities as conditions are expected to remain largely stable.
In the Jammu region, temperatures are likely to rise significantly, with the mercury expected to reach around 39 to 40 degrees Celsius in the coming days.
