MAY 27: Following the Pahalgam terror attack owing to which tourist footfall to the valley especially Pahalgam subsided, National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah appealed to tourists to visit J&K saying the region wants peace and not war.
While denouncing the Pahalgam carnage, National Conference chief highlighted the impact of recent terror attacks on livelihoods tied to tourism, particularly in Pahalgam, ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra.
Dr Farooq Abdullah said, “The Prime Minister has sent multi-party delegations overseas to send a message that India does not support war, infact, it is pro to peace and tranquility.”
“I urge tourists from across the country to visit and enjoy the serenity this place offers. Amarnath Yatra is important to us. It has been going on for years. I hope that pilgrims will come in a huge number and will have a good and comfortable experience, which they can share with their families,” said Dr Farooq Abdullah.
