Operation Sindoor
Announces govt jobs for NOKs of Pak shelling victims, promises enhanced security infrastructure
Jammu: In a powerful display of solidarity with armed forces and border residents, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday visited the forward areas of Poonch and Rajouri to review the security situation, interact with soldiers of Operation Sindoor, and meet the families affected by unprovoked shelling from Pakistan.
Praising the Indian Army’s swift and decisive retaliation under Operation Sindoor, the Lieutenant Governor saluted the courage and valour of the soldiers, stating, “Dharma has won and Adharma has surrendered before your weapons and might.”
Highlighting the swiftness of the military action, he added, “In just 23 minutes, India brought the masters of Pakistani terrorists to their knees. If they ever dare to look at Mother India again, no part of their land will remain untouched by punishment.”
He affirmed that Operation Sindoor is a living example of India’s strategic and military supremacy, sending a clear message to Pakistan and its terror infrastructure that misadventures across the border will meet with devastating consequences.
During his visit to Rajouri, the LG paid homage to Additional District Development Commissioner Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, who lost his life in enemy shelling.
He also met injured civilians at Government Medical College, Rajouri, and reviewed relief and rehabilitation measures with Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma.
He was briefed on disbursement of relief, essential supplies, medical care, damage to infrastructure and livestock, and the urgent need for construction of new bunkers.
LG directed the administration to ensure uninterrupted essential services and submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) to the Divisional Commissioner and Chief Secretary.
At Nowshera, he visited the houses damaged by shelling, interacted with local residents, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to public safety and rehabilitation of all affected.
In Poonch, the LG visited the grieving families of those who lost their lives in Pakistani shelling and announced Government jobs for the next of kin (NOKs) of the victims, along with financial compensation and assured continued assistance from the Government of India.
Calling rehabilitation of affected families his top priority, the Lieutenant Governor said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, we are expanding border infrastructure, security, and welfare of border residents. Construction of individual and community bunkers is being ramped up under Security Related Expenditure (SRE).”
Paying respects at Gurudwara Dera Santpura Nangali Sahib, he condemned Pakistan’s cowardly act of targeting sacred religious places — a Gurudwara, a Temple, and a Mosque — and lauded the people of Poonch for their unity, resilience, and rejection of divisive conspiracies.
“Pakistan targeted our sacred sites to break the social fabric, but the people of Poonch stood like a rock, providing moral strength to our soldiers and showcasing India’s unity,” he said.
The LG emphasized that under the current leadership, India’s global strength is growing and no force can break the resolve of a united Bharat.
He concluded his visit with a comprehensive review at the Dungus sector, instructing officials to speed up construction of bunkers, upgrade district hospital medical services, and enhance the Civil Defence system.
Senior officials including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, IG Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal, and other administrative and security personnel accompanied the LG during his visit.
