POONCH, May 14: Director General of Police, J&K UT, Shri Nalin Prabhat, along with IGP Jammu, visited Poonch on Tuesday to assess the situation following the recent ceasefire violation by Pakistan.
The senior officers began their visit by inspecting the District Police Lines (DPL) Poonch, where they reviewed the damage caused by cross-border shelling. They also interacted with local police personnel and examined the existing security arrangements in the area.
Later, the DGP and IGP visited Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital to meet with civilians injured in the shelling. They inquired about the condition of the injured, assured them of all possible support, and lauded the dedication and swift response of the hospital staff in providing medical care.
The visit underscored the administration’s commitment to ensuring public safety and delivering a timely response during such emergencies.
Meanwhile, civil society members and the Ram Dass Seva Society appreciated the commendable efforts of Kulmeet Singh, and Surinder Singh both working in Cid wing of police for their active support to the administration and the injured during the shelling incident.
