NOV 12: In a major crackdown to dismantle the terror network and combat anti-national forces, Police teams are conducting raids at Shopian district.
The raids are part of tearing down the Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) activists indulged in anti-national activities.
A total of 200 locations in Kulgam were searched in connection with the JeI activists.
Notably, the searches are still in full swing and more information will be disclosed as searches progress.
The networks suspected of providing financial or logistical support to militant groups are under scanner and the coordinated actions are directed to weaken the remaining banned organisations who run the anti-national propaganda in Kashmir valley.
In last four days, more than 400 Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) have been conducted across various parts of South Kashmir, including precisely checks on former militant hideouts, Over Ground Workers (OGWs), and encounter sites.
As per the reports, around 500 individuals under suspicion of having connections with JeI, JKNOPs, and other banned groups have been put to severe questions. Several of them were detained.
A senior officer reiterated that the Police maintains a stringent zero-tolerance policy towards militancy and its networks.
