OCT 3: LG Ladakh Kavinder Gupta said that the clashes of September 24 were painful and dreadful and Administration will ensure that it will never happen again.
Speaking to media, LG Kavinder said that for the past four days markets have opened for the general public from 10 am to 6 pm after the recent protest in Leh.
“After one or two days, complete normalcy will return to Leh. The recent agitations on September 24 highlighted the demand for Statehood and inclusion of Ladakh under the Sixth Schedule.
LG Kavinder said all educational centers up to the eighth grade have been reopened.
On Sonam Wangchuk arrest, LG Ladakh said that the action has been taken with regard to the evidence. He added it is his right to appeal to Court as it falls under his fundamental rights.
LG said, “Several protestors have been released on bail, those who found guilty will eventually face law.”
LG Kavinder added, “The Government has also initiated a magistrate inquiry into violent clash incidents of September 24.”
Kavinder Gupta emphasized the Central Government and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) have invited Apex body on September 22 and they have been again meet on October 6 to initiate a dialogue.
