Rajiv Ranjan Verma and Manmohan Singh are the two retired members of the Indian Police Service. B Venkatesh Varma is a retired IFS officer in the seven-member board.

The decision comes following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives and left several injured.

Earlier today, Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meet was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence concluded this afternoon.

The meeting was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union Finance Minister Nirmal Sitaraman, Union Raod and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and National Security Advisor of India Ajit Doval.
