SEPT 2: Following the written complaint of financial fraud of Rs 53 lakh in land transaction, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir registered an FIR against four individuals on Tuesday.
As per the complaint, “The land brokers have been identified as Tariq Ahmad Hajam, resident of Barthana Qamarwari; Ghulam Hassan Mir of Barthana Srinagar; Sonaullah Mir of Barthana Srinagar; and Razzak Mir resident of Barthana Srinagar.”
All four were involved deceitfully grabbing an amount of Rs 53 lakhs from the complainant on the pretext of facilitating a land deal.
“On the heels of the complaint, an investigation was initiated at Police Station Economic Offences Wing (Crime Branch Kashmir).
In the course of investigation, it emerged that the accused persons were hand in connection with Revenue officers and officials and manipulated credentials in order to grab the money and land of the complainant.
Prima facie reveals the commission of offences is punishable under Sections 420 and 120-B IPC.
In this regard, cognizance was taken, and a formal FIR has been registered at Police Station Economic Offences Wing, Crime Branch Kashmir. Further investigation is in full swing to identify the conspiracy and involvement of revenue officials.
