Jammu Amid clash between two unions over a parking issue at the out gate of Jammu Bus Stand on BC Road, the district administration Jammu issued notice claiming that the piece of land under question belongs to the Nazool and hence it should be vacated with immediate effect.

On December 23, 2024 clashes took place between the Tempo Traveler’s Association led by Kali Dass Verma and the Maxi Cab Union headed by Vijay Dogra over the parking issue. In the ensuing clash three persons received injuries and were hospitalized.

“The district administration had directed the Maxi Cab Union led by Vijay Dogra to vacate the area on the plea that the said land was Nazool land”, an official said.

He said that the district administration (which had already served notice to the Union of Vijay Dogra for vacating the area which was being used to park its vehicles) led by Tehsildar Nazool escorted by SDPO City North covered the disputed parking space at BC Road, Jammu by concertina wire and asked drivers of both the Unions to vacate the area.  He said that as of now, the area has been vacated by both the Unions and a Police team of Police Station Bus Stand led by SHO Vikas Dogra on the spot.

Meanwhile in reaction against government’s move, Vijay Dogra, President Maxi Cab Union, has  stated that his Union was working in the area for the  last 12 years and it was high handedness of the administration to force them  to vacate the area, adding that, government is  snatching the livelihood of thousands of people connected to their Union. He claimed that the administration through Police (JKP) was pressurizing them to accommodate the vehicles of Kali Dass Verma’s Union in the same spot which they had disagreed on the plea that the space was not enough to accommodate a large number of vehicles.

He also criticized All J&K Transport Union for playing in the hands of administration and stated that from now onwards they will fight for their rights on their own and would seek justice from Court as it was the Court direction which had asked the then district administration Jammu to provide them the space at BC Road. He also appealed to the  Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to look into the matter and bring justice to them.

However, in the late hours, Maxi Cab Operator  Union headed by Vijay Dogra  of Diginia Jammu along with Mohinder Singh ,Narinder Singh of Simble Camp and some other unknown persons  and Tempo Traveller owner Union headed by Kali Das of Sarote Jammu along with Harjeet Singh alias  Ricky and  Gagandeep Singh  of  Gole Gujral violated  the order of Executive Magistrate Khas Jammu and started fighting with each others which prompted police to lodge a case vide  FIR No. 63/24 U/S 223/194 BNS against them  at Police Station  Bus stand Jammu
