AK, Pistol Rounds, Grenade Recovered During Search Operation In Reasi: Officials

Reasi, September 3: Security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation in the forest area of Khataji Ridge in Mahore tehsil of Reasi district, officials said.

The operation was launched jointly by the 58 Rashtriya Rifles and SOG in the general area of Khataji Ridge following specific intelligence inputs from a local Army Intelligence unit.

During the search, security personnel recovered several war-like items, including 140 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 19 rounds for a PIKA LMG and 25 rounds of 9mm pistol ammunition.

The recovery also included one grenade, six cassettes, one AK magazine and one pistol, officials said.

The search operation was carried out after receiving specific information regarding the presence of arms and ammunition in the forested area. Further details are awaited.
