APRIL 12: On Saturday, one student died and 23 others survived critical wounds after the bus they were traveling met with an accident near Vodpora area of Handwara in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the reports, the bus ferrying the students lost control and overturned in Handwara
On the heels of this, Police and locals promptly rushed to accident spot and evacuated them to the nearby hospital for treatment of multiple injuries.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah offered condolences on the tragic accident.
Taking to social networking site X, Omar posted, “The loss of young Tabasum Mushtaq, a promising student from GDC Sogam, in the tragic accident near Handwara is a tragedy that weighs heavily on all of us. My deepest condolences to her family in this hour of grief. Prayers for the swift recovery of the injured. We are closely monitoring the situation and ensuring all necessary assistance.”
