Says from Panchayats to Parliament, BJP believes in women-led development
Jammu, March 18: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta today reaffirmed the party’s commitment to ensuring full implementation of 33 per cent reservation for women, both within the party’s organizational structure and at constitutional posts. He stated that the BJP has consistently worked towards empowering women by giving them leadership roles and opportunities to serve society effectively.
Chairing a meeting with Party’s women leaders at Party Headquarters in Jammu, Kavinder Gupta cited the recent nomination of first-time MLA Rekha Gupta as the Chief Minister of Delhi as a testament to BJP’s commitment to gender equality in governance. He said that this historic decision is in line with the party’s vision to provide women a strong political platform and encourage their active participation in decision-making processes.
“The BJP has always been at the forefront of empowering women, whether through political representation, welfare schemes, or grassroots initiatives. From the Ujjwala Yojana to Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, our government has consistently introduced policies that uplift women socially, economically, and politically,” he stated.
Bringing the focus to Jammu and Kashmir, Kavinder highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the abrogation of Article 370 has opened new avenues for women in the Union Territory. “Earlier, due to discriminatory laws, women in J&K faced injustice in property rights and political representation. Today, they stand equal to men in every sphere, benefitting from various Central Government schemes and initiatives.”
The senior BJP leader emphasized that in the upcoming Assembly elections, the BJP will field strong women candidates, ensuring that women’s voices are heard at every level of governance. He urged the women of J&K to actively engage in politics and take advantage of the opportunities the BJP is creating for them.
Kavinder further asserted that BJP’s commitment to 33 per cent reservation for women is not just a promise but a reality that is being implemented across all levels of governance. “From Panchayats to Parliament, BJP believes in women-led development and will continue to break barriers to ensure their rightful place in politics.”
The former deputy Chief Minister urged the women of J&K to step forward and contribute to the socio-political transformation of the region, reiterating that the BJP remains dedicated to their empowerment and representation in mainstream politics.
