RAJOURI, 24 Feb: Senior BJP leader and former J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina has lauded the expedition of work on Nowshera Tunnel on Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch National Highway.
It is learnt that the Nowshera Tunnel, spanning the length of 700 meters, is 97% complete, marking a landmark step in the Rs 441 crore Phase Three project. Additionally, the tunnel will boost connectivity, reduce travel time, and enhance trade, tourism, and economic growth in the Pir Panjal region, benefiting locals and visitors.
Pertinent to mention, the construction on the Nowshera Tunnel began on February 12, 2023. And it is expected to be concluded and handed over to BRO by March 31, 2025.
Ravinder Raina has said, “National Highway from Jammu to Nowshera, Sundarbani, and Rajouri Poonch is touching new heights of development with the construction of large tunnels. The Border Roads Organization (BRO) is doing phenomenal work, and the Ministry of Defense is sailing in the same boat of putting remarkable performance. I congratulate and express gratitude to the Indian Government, the Ministry of Defense, and BRO for their excellent work.”
