Jammu: Renowned filmmaker Nisha Gupta has released her latest film, “Domestic Violence Part 2: False Cases,” shedding light on the often-overlooked struggles faced by men who become victims of false accusations.
The film, a sequel to her previous project that focused on domestic violence against women, addresses the increasing demand from viewers to highlight the other side of the issue.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the film, Nisha Gupta said, “After my first movie, many men approached me, sharing their experiences of being falsely accused and harassed. It made me realize that domestic violence is not gender-specific. While women suffer, many men also face abuse but remain silent due to societal stigma.”
The film portrays how some women misuse legal provisions, filing false cases against men, leading to harassment and mental agony. It emphasizes the need for thorough investigations before action is taken against the accused. Gupta urged law enforcement agencies to conduct fair inquiries rather than acting solely on complaints.
Vikram Ji, who supported the film’s message, stated, “Equality means addressing abuse faced by both genders. Men often suffer in silence, fearing judgment. This film is a powerful reminder that justice should be unbiased and that men, too, deserve protection.”
Currently, the movie is available on the Nisha Production Jammu YouTube channel, with the filmmaker encouraging viewers to watch, share, and engage with the content. She also called for the establishment of dedicated Men’s Cells and NGOs, similar to Women’s Cells, where men can safely report harassment and seek support.
