JAMMU, 14 Feb: CM Omar Abdullah said that healthcare in peripheral areas needs to be put on modern lines.
At a Medicon-24 Medical Conference, J&K Chief Minister said scores of debates and discussions revolve around the topic of Medicon will touch upon. He added the challenge to make healthcare more easily accessible still prevails and to overcome those problems we need to focus on the quality healthcare.
In Peripheral areas, the healthcare doesn’t match the requisite standards which is why everyone floods into cities said Omar.
Omar Abdullah added that, the only way we can remove this pressure is not by improving or adding to our infrastructure in Jammu but by enhancing the infrastructure in peripheral areas.
Omar recalled, “There was a time when we only had GMC Jammu and GMC Srinagar. Now, we have GMCs at the district level,” adding, we have to augment and improve the emergency handling capability and capacity at those GMCs.
