Jammu: Robbers struck a jeweller’s shop in Jammu’s posh Greater Kailash area on Friday afternoon and made off with Rs 35 thousand cash and jewels weighing 1.5 Kilogram valuing crores of rupees.
Sanam Anand son of Kuldeep Anand of Bishnah, who runs his jewellery business under the name and style of Anand Jewellers at Fawara Chowk , went to the nearby Jammu and Kashmir Bank to deposit the cash and left his mother namely Prabha Anand over there when the incident took place.
Two persons wearing black suits and helmets entered the shop,put sharp edged weapons on the woman’s neck and robbed cash and jewellery. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV cameras which was later seized by the police as a part of investigation.
The daylight robbery, however, has stunned the Jammuites. The incident has also left a question mark on the alertness of Jammu and Kashmir Police as the incident took place just a few yards away from the police’s naka point.
“ The robbers have been identified and different teams have been fanned out to secure their arrest”, a police officer told The News Now.
