Jammu, Aug 18: Security forces carried out search operations at multiple places in Udhampur, Reasi and Kathua districts after reports emerged about the movement of suspected individuals, officials said on Tuesday.
According to officials, police along with the CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation after receiving information that two suspected persons had been spotted in the area.
The two individuals reportedly approached the residence of Prakash Chand in Talot village of Udhampur late Monday night and sought food, officials said.
They added that the residents did not open the door despite repeated knocking for several minutes. The matter was then brought to the attention of security forces after the suspected persons, who were wearing shawls, left the area towards Khuban.
Following the information, joint teams of police and CRPF reached the village and started searches in the area.
Meanwhile, security forces also conducted searches in the Sadini forest area of Reasi and several villages close to the International Border in Kathua’s Hiranagar sector.
Officials said the search operations remain underway in areas where reports of suspected movement have recently been received.
