Jammu: Lieutenant GovernorManoj Sinha today highlighted the transformation of Indian Railways, stating that the realisation of Kashmir-to-Kanyakumari connectivity marks a new era in the country’s railway journey.
Addressing officer trainees of the Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM), Lucknow, during their field visit to Jammu Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor said railway officers are the “torchbearers of New India’s pace, capability and resolve.”
He highlighted the major milestones achieved in the railway sector, including record-level electrification, expansion of Dedicated Freight Corridors, the launch of world-class Vande Bharat trains, and modernisation of railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
“The realisation of the dream of connecting Kashmir to Kanyakumari, along with these transformational initiatives, reflects the new era of Indian Railways,” LG Sinha said.
He emphasised that Indian Railways is no longer just a passenger transport system but has become a driving force of economic development, logistics efficiency and national unity.
The Lieutenant Governor urged the 69 officer trainees selected through the Civil Services Examination (2022, 2023 and 2024 batches) to embrace innovation, digital technology, artificial intelligence and data-driven systems while ensuring citizen-centric services.
“Every minute saved reduces logistics costs, strengthens industry competitiveness and enhances India’s global standing,” he said.
Calling upon the officers to contribute towards Viksit Bharat@2047, LG Sinha said their decisions, strategies and leadership would shape the future of millions of Indians.
Interacting with officer trainees of the Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS) at Lok Bhavan, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha underlined the importance of transparency, accountability and institutional strength in India’s economic growth.
“In an era of globalisation, true economic strength is not measured merely by production, investment or trade, but by the robustness of institutions, respect for the rule of law, protection of investors’ interests and adherence to transparency and accountability,” LG Sinha said.
He said the ICLS serves as a guardian of corporate governance and plays a crucial role in implementing key legislations such as the Companies Act and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.
“India’s economic credibility rests on transparency, accountability and trust. The Indian Corporate Law Service must ensure investors’ confidence and inclusive growth for Viksit Bharat@2047,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He added that responsible institutions, ethical business practices, transparent governance and a strong legal framework are essential for achieving inclusive development.
The ICLS officer trainees of the 2023 and 2024 batches, accompanied by Registrar of Companies, J&K Shri Haamid Bukhari, shared their experiences from their Domestic Study Tour of Jammu Kashmir.
The Lieutenant Governor expressed confidence that ICLS officers would continue to strengthen India’s transparent corporate culture, enhance investor confidence and contribute to the country’s journey towards becoming a leading global economy.
