SRINAGAR/JAMMU, AUGUST 1: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Saturday strongly condemned the killing of two non-local labourers in Kulgam and called for a fair, transparent and impartial investigation into the incident.
After meeting the bereaved families, Abdullah said the attack was deeply unfortunate and stressed that the truth behind the killings must be brought to light. He said those responsible should be identified through an unbiased investigation and brought to justice.
Questioning the timing of the attack, Abdullah remarked that such incidents appear to occur whenever the demand for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood gains momentum. He said it was important to determine who was behind the killings rather than making assumptions.
He further said that an impartial probe was essential not only to deliver justice to the victims’ families but also to maintain public confidence in the investigation process.
