Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the placement of seven In-charge Superintending Engineers (Electric) as In-charge Chief Engineers (Electric) in the Power Development Department (PDD), along with key transfers and postings.
The promotions, approved under Government Order No. 101-JK(PDD) of 2025, are based on the recommendations of the Establishment-cum-Selection Committee and are made on a temporary, stop-gap basis, subject to the outcome of any pending legal proceedings.
Promoted officers include Aaquib Sultana Waheed Deva, Shurjeel Gani Lalla, Nisar Ahmad Lone, Mohammad Hussain Shah, Dalbir Singh, Javaid Ahmad Dar, and Vijay Kumar Balmotra. These engineers will serve in their current pay and grade.
As part of the reorganization, Rahilla Wani has been appointed as I/C Chief Engineer (Transmission) JKPTCL, Kashmir. Mumtaz Ahmad will serve as Secretary (Technical) and also hold charge of MD, JKPTCL. Habib Choudhary has been transferred to CE (Generation), JKPDC Kashmir, while Vikas Anand takes charge of CE (Projects), Jammu.
Among the newly promoted engineers, Shurjeel Gani Lalla will lead Procurement & Planning, KPDCL, while Nisar Ahmad Lone has been given Distribution, KPDCL, with additional responsibilities. Mohammad Hussain Shah will oversee Projects at KPDCL, and Dalbir Singh is deputed to CVPPL. Javaid Ahmad Dar has been posted as CE (Generation), Kashmir, and Vijay Kumar Balmotra will handle Procurement & Planning at JPDCL.
Additional responsibilities were also given to Arshad Hussain Reshi and Ravi Kant Kalsotra for overseeing multiple circles in KPDCL and JKPTCL respectively.
The government emphasized that the placements do not confer any claim for permanent promotion and are subject to review based on vigilance or departmental findings.
