Jammu: Four passengers were killed while five others including a groom injured in separate road accidents across Jammu and Kashmir.
As per reports, four were killed and 1 critically injured after a TATA Sumo in which they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged in a deep gorge in Ukhral Pogal Paristan Tehsil of district Ramban this evening.
The accident occurred on Senabati link road near Madina Masjid Hill in Paristan area of Ukhral Tehsil and vehicle rolled down around 600-feet from the link road.
BMO Ukhral, Dr Abdul Rehman told that total six injured were shifted to PHC Ukhral and two of them declared brought dead. He said after giving first aid at PHC Ukhral four injured were referred to SDH Banihal where one more injured succumbed to his injuries, taking the death toll to three. Later on another injured succumbed to his injuries while on way to GMC Anantnag.
Police identified the deceased as driver and owner of ill-fated Tata sumo Mohammad Rafiq Gujjar, Towqeer Ahmed Bhat of Paristan Panchayat and Abdul Latief Gujjar, resident of Bingara Panchayat in Ukhral Pogal Paristan tehsil of district Ramban.
The officials informed that two injured have been referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for advanced treatment.
In another accident three people were injured including groom after they came under stone shooting near Panar area of Mughal road in Poonch district on Friday.
Officials said that a wedding party, including the groom, was traveling from Poonch to Shopian when they came under stone shooting along the Mughal Road.
In this incident three people were injured including groom, who is said to be in critical condition.
BMO Surankote Dr Mohd Yousuf Choudhary said that that three people were injured and have been referred to GMC Srinagar for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Mohd Amin(30) son of Abdul Kareem resident of Shahpur, Mohd Khalid(30) son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Shahpur and Mohd Javid(25) son of Mohd Ali. More details awaited.
