Jammu, Apr 9: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district have detained a man under the provisions of the Public Safety Act (PSA) over allegations of activities considered harmful to public order and national security, officials said.
The individual, identified as Romelu Singh, has been described by police as a repeat offender with a history of involvement in cases that raised concerns about law and order. Officials stated that his past conduct was viewed as a potential threat to peace and stability in the area.
Following his preventive detention, Singh has been shifted to the district jail in Jammu, where he will remain lodged under the legal provisions of the PSA as authorities continue to monitor the situation.
