SRINAGAR, May 12: Police on Monday detained two individuals in Srinagar after recovering arms, ammunition and posters linked to the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) during a routine naka checking operation, officials said.
According to officials, a police team intercepted two men travelling on a motorcycle near the Baba Dem area of the city during routine checking. During the search operation, security personnel allegedly recovered a pistol, three magazines, 21 live cartridges, two mobile phones and 10 LeT posters from their possession.
Police said a case under FIR No. 26/2025 has been registered under relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Arms Act, while further investigation into the matter is underway.
The arrested individuals were identified as Faisal Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Malpora Habba Kadal, and Faisal Ahmad Guroo of Rajouri Kadal.
