MAY 13: In a tragic incident, at least 14 people died in five villages in Amritsar after allegedly consuming spurious liquor.
It is learnt that five people in this regard have been arrested, besides, six have been hospitalized with complications from alcoholic drink.
Notably, the deaths have occurred in five villages – Bhangali, Patalpuri, Marari Kalan, Therewal and Talwandi Ghuman.
Police confirmed the number of deaths in the incident which occurred on May 12.
“Acting on the information about the deaths of the people in Amritsar owing to spurious alcohol, we instantly acted on the inputs,” Police official apprised.
