Sleuths of ACB learning ‘investigation’ from CBI

JAMMU: With the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB)’s role getting significant with each passing day, courtesy a plethora of corruption cases coming to fore in Jammu and Kashmir, the union territory administration led by Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu is now getting ACB sleuths training at CBI Academy at Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.
Around seventy-five sleuths of the premier anti-graft agency of the UT have undertaken the crash course in ‘investigation practices’ at Central investigation agency-CBI.
The ACB authorities started sending their sleuths for fifteen-day crash course to the CBI academy after it received directions from the Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu, official sources said.
“So far, we have sent the officials including SPs in batches of fifteen each officials,” they said, adding that the fifth batch’s training is completing on Friday.
“The Union Territory administration, in order to enhance investigating skills of the sleuths of the premier investigation agency, directed the ACB authorities to send the sleuths for professional investigation to the CBI academy”, said a senior ACB officer.
Earlier, the officer said, the sleuths were sent to the courses in general, but this time, they are put in exclusive training which is mandatory for every sleuth.
