Lawyers boycott court of J. Bindal

JAMMU: Alleging adverse attitude towards advocates, Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu (JKHCBAJ) has decided to boycott the court of Justice Rajesh Bindal from Tuesday.
In this regard, the resolution was passed in a meeting of the executive committee and special invitees of the JKHCBAJ, which was held under the chairmanship of Advocate of Abhinav Sharma, President of the association.
During the meeting, many senior as well as young members of the Executive Committee expressed their concerns on the "attitude and behavior" of Justice Bindal against Advocates.
"While speaking all the members in one voice resolved that the bar should take some action on the attitude & behavior of the Hon'ble Judge against Advocates", the resolution reads.
In view thereof, it was resolved unanimously that they would boycott his court, starting from Tuesday, till further decision of the JKHCBAJ or till resolution of the issue, it said.
Justice Bindal took charge as a judge of the J&K HC on November 19, 2018 and is presently the second-senior most judge of the High Court.
