AFTER 370 Investments in J&K, Ladakh soon: Ambani

JAMMU: Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Monday said that the company is committed to support the developmental needs of the new Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and that it will create a task force to explore investment opportunities in region.
At the 42nd Annual General Meeting of the company held in Mumbai, he said that the company would make a lot of announcements on the developmental initiatives it plans to take in the newly-created Union Territories.
"Responding to Honourable PM’s (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) appeal, we stand committed to support the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in all their developmental needs. Reliance will create a special task force and you will see a lot of announcements on Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and our developmental initiatives in the coming months," Ambani said.
In a televised address to the nation on August 8, the Prime Minister had said: “I will urge the Hindi film industry, Telugu film industry and other industries to think about investing in Kashmir. I urge the private sector to keep Jammu and Kashmir as part of their policy for technology expansion.”
“You will see several announcements for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in the coming days,” Ambani was quoted as saying.
At the AGM, Ambani also said RIL would take up responsibility of the Pulwama martyrs. “As a mark of respect to the Pulwama martyrs, we have assumed full responsibility for the education of their children, and the livelihood of their families,” the group chairman said.
