Former MLA Pt Shiv Lal dies, CM condoles the death

Shimla, Apr 21: Former Member of Legislative Assembly from Seraj of Mandi district, Pt Shiv Lal took his last breath on Sunday at Indra Gandhi Medical College after his prolonged illness.
His family member said that he died at 1400 hrs at the Intensive Care Unit of Indra Gandhi Medical College.
He was 80 yrs old.
Pt Shiv Lal was elected on the Congress ticket two times in 1985 and 1990 from Chichayot (Now Seraj) constituency for Himachal Pradesh assembly .
He enters the public service after becoming Gram Panchayat Pradhan and quit the Science teacher job to joint active politics.
Pt Shiv Lal also rendered his services to contribute for the Cooperative movement in the state and he became President of around 20 Block Cooperative Societies. Called as Lion of Chichayot Pt Shiv Lal is well known for his powerful and effective oratory.
Pt Shiv Lal also fought assembly election on Himachal Pradesh Vikas Congress Ticket as the outfit later merged with Congress party led by Pt Sukh Ram. Mr Shiv Lal recently attended Congress public meeting at Mandi after which he was rushed to IGMC Shimla where he took his last breath.
