Some love stories are meant to be, some aren’t. The romance and love story genre and the books written in it incorporate twists and turns in the relationship, and the difficulties that lovers face from people who want to thwart their relationship. However, some books in the same genre include suspense and thrill as a lagniappe. The author Satish Goyal comes up with such a book “Together Forever To Never”, which is a remarkable and moving exploration of a love story- involving love which is unshaken and unquestioned, yet unfulfilled and unrequited.
The storyline follows the protagonist Samar and his love escapade with Sariyanka, whom he believes to be his other half. Having lost true love before, Samar is very much head-over-heels for Sariyanka and believes the declarations of profound love that she tells him. In a chance conversation with his friend Mayank, Samar discovers some shocking truths. As the story unfolds, a series of events follow that forever change the meaning of love for him. Is Sariyanka truly ‘the other half’ that Samar believes her to be? Will Samar get the love that he always longed for? The narrative then goes on to answer these questions.
This is a book that is having an intriguing premise, which sets it apart from other stories of the same genre – the love story is not straightforward; but is mixed with elements of deceit, machinations, stirring disclosures, and complicated characters.
The pacing of the narrative is good initially, but is somewhat insipid in the second half of the book. However, plenty of emotional flashpoints and unsettling twists and turns makes the overall read interesting. The characters are explored in depth and the storyline packs a punch. The author has created characters that the readers will care about, and root for. The language used in the book is simple and elegant, and the quotes and poems included in the book are also well-written and lyrical.
This is a heart-wrenching tale which portrays about what all can happen in love, and how one can endure in the face of betrayals and deceits in love. A unique premise permeates this highly engaging, page-turning, captivating, and emotionally packed story.
