Panel set up to streamline re- appropriation

JAMMU: The state government on Friday constituted a committee to streamline the re-appropriation process of all projects schemes running in the current fiscal.

The four-member committee would be headed by Mohammad Yaqoob Ittoo, Director General Budget and would comprise of Nasir Ahmad Naqash, Director Development Expenditure Division; Parvez Ahmad Kakroo, Director Development Expenditure Division; and Shafaat Yehya, Deputy Director Budget/GM JKIDFC.

“The committee shall have the mandate to streamline process of re-appropriation. The committee shall also ensure that no re-appropriation takes place where projects have been identified for funding under 'languishing project' scheme,” the official order said.

All the proposals for re-appropriation shall be scrutinized by the committee and on the recommendations of the committee the savings under the projects shall be re-appropriated accordingly, it added.
