PM arrives Patna Airport on a day visit to Bihar

Patna, Feb 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived by a special IAF aircraft at Jai Prakash Narain International Airport here today on a day-long visit to Bihar to lay foundation stones and also launch projects worth Rs 33,000 crore relating to Metro Rail, Fertiliser and Gas pipeline.
Mr Modi was welcomed at the airport by Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, State parliamentary affairs minister Shravan Kumar, a number of ministers and senior civil and police authorities.
Mr Modi left for Barauni by a special helicopter later. At Barauni, he will lay the foundation stones and also launch projects relating to expansion capacity of Barauni refinery, expansion of Jagdishpur-Haldia gas pipeline, Patna Metro project, City Gas distribution network in Patna, Ganga riverfront development phase 1 and other Railway projects. Laying of foundation projects and launching of projects outside Barauni would be done through video conferencing.
Apart from Mr Tandon, Mr Kumar, Mr Modi, Ram Vilas Paswan, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Giriraj Singh, R K Singh, Ram Kripal Yadav, Ashwini Kumar Chaubey and Ministers of Bihar Nand Kishore Yadav, Mangal Pandey and Suresh Sharma would remain present in the function being organised on the occasion.
Prime Minister will return to Patna Airport from Barauni and leave for Hazaribagh in Jharkhand
