After Doklam, SSB to set up 18 new check posts in Sikkim and Arunachal

New Delhi, Dec (UNI) In order to strengthen security and monitoring along the eastern frontier afte the Doklam episode , the Sashastra Seema Bal has operationalised 18 new BOPs in the past year in border areas along Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh, DG SSB Surjeet Singh said here.
Out of the 18, 3 BOPs have been operationalised in Sikkim , while 15 in Arunachal Pradesh, DG SSB said while addressing media persons during annual press meet here.
Thee border guarding force has also operationalised all 72 Batallions sanctioned to it , the force chief said.
The force holds the primary task to secure the 1,751-km Indo-Nepal and 699-km Indo-Bhutan borders.
