JAMMU: Nearly five months after the post fell vacant, the Governor’s Administration on Wednesday appointed Dr Hina Shafi Bhat as the vice chairperson of the all important Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB).

“The Governor’s Administration today accorded sanction to the appointment of Vice Chairperson including non-official members in the constitution of Board of Directors of J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB),” an official spokesman said.

As per an order issued in this regard by Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce Shailendra Kumar, Dr Hina Shafi Bhat was appointed as the Vice Chairperson of the KVIB.

A Bharatiya Janta Party leader, Hina had contested Assembly elections from Amira Kadal seat in 2014, however, was defeated by PDP candidate Syed Altaf Bukhari.
