Pak breaches LoC twice, two jawans injured

SRINAGAR: Pakistani troops on Wednesday violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district twice, resulting in injuries to two soldiers.

The Pakistani troops this morning resorted to unprovoked firing towards Indian posts in Kamalkote area of Uri in Baramulla district, an Army official said, adding the Indian army responded in adequate measure.

In the cross-border shelling, two army soldiers were injured and have been hospitalized, he added.
The injured soldiers were identified as Naik M willan and Sepoy Wishva Nath of Army’s 8 RR.
The damage suffered across the LoC was not immediately clear.

However, in the evening, the Pakistan attacked again in the same area, leading to heavy exchange of fire along the LoC.

The armies of India and Pakistan on Wednesday evening traded heavy shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri area of Baramulla.

Reports said that the armies exchanged massive shelling near Nanak post Kamalkote and Rani Shanker post sectors of the Uri around 5.30 pm triggering panic and fear among the residents.
