Army to organise "Samman Samaroh for disabled soldiers of North India" on Nov 12-13

Chandigarh, Nov 10: Indian Army has declared the year 2018 as `Year of the Disabled Soldier in Line of Duty’, to honour its soldiers who have sustained grave injuries and to appreciate their undying spirit of soldiering.

To commemorate the bravery and unparalleled sacrifice of these soldiers, Western Command conducted a number of outreach programmes from July to November 2018 to connect with these brave hearts, specially those residing in remote areas.

Amongst various activities to mark the Year of Disabled Soldiers, Western Command is organising `Samman Samaroh’ for the disabled soldiers of North India on November 12 and 13. The event would be a step to assure the disabled soldiers about the commitment of Indian Army towards them.

Over 500 disabled soldiers with their families from the states of J&K, Punjab, UP, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh are likely to attend the function. The event shall also be graced by three Param Vir Chakra Awardees and several eminent disabled soldiers.
