Gang rape of couple of minors in Lohardaga

Lohardaga, Aug 18: Police has taken into custody few people in connection with the rape of couple of minors which took place late Thursday evening at Hirhi-Hara Toli under Sadar Police Station area of this district.
Police sources today said that some people have been taken into custody in this case following an fir which was lodged at the Sadar Police Station by the family members of the victims yesterday.
The girls in their complaint said that after speaking with their friends over phone they were called to meet outside the village but instead of their known boys a group of five youths reached on spot and claimed to have been sent by their friends to pick them up.
When the girls refused they were forcibly taken to an orchard where apart from these five three other youth gang raped them. Post the incident the girls somehow managed to return back to their home and narrated the ordeal to their family after which police was alerted.
A team led by DSP later reached on the spot and inquired into the matter and sent the girls for medical examination.
Meanwhile, Lohardaga SP Priyadrashi Alok has today also confirmed the incident stating that further action is being taken
