Chadoora town in central Kashmir shuts

Srinagar, Aug 13: A shut down was on Monday observed in Chadoora town of central Kashmir district of Badgam on the first death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander.

Shops and other business establishments remained closed in Chadoora town on Srinagar-Charar-e-Sharief road.

Traffic was also off the road. However, vehicles ply on Charar-e-Sharief road were being diverted through alternative route.

Work in government offices and banks was also affected while educational institution in the town also remained closed.

Additional security forces and state police personnel have been deployed to prevent any law and order problem.

HM commander Mohammad Yaseen Itoo alias Mohammad Gaznavi and three other militants were killed by security forces in an encounter on this day last year in Shopian this of south Kashmir.
