Reiterate issues flagged to them when in power, attract jibes

JAMMU: In an uncharacteristic and bizarre incident, two ex-ministers from BJP today attracted jibes from the locals when they complained about Governor not coming up to the expectations of people of Samba during their meeting with centre’s special representative interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma, even after having failed to do the same despite being in power for the past three years.

As the duo spoke with Interlocutor, the peculiar incident not only set tongues wagering but also made people present there to stare at them in surprise as the issues put forth before Sharma were the same which were raised by locals to them when they were cabinet ministers in previous dispensation.

All this happened on Thursday at district headquarter Samba where two ex-BJP ministers were among the twenty-five deputations from across the district to meet Sharma.

According to the report, the 25 deputations who met Dineshwar included MLA Vijaypur Chander Prakash Ganga, MLA Samba Dr Davinder Kumar Manyal (both former ministers), JKNPP unit Samba, BSP unit Samba, Gujjar Bakkarwal Tribal Forum, Kissan Union Samba, Peoples Forum Civil Society Samba, BBIA (Bari Brahmana Industries Association), BJP unit Samba, Congress Unit Samba, PDP unit Samba, Shiv Sena Unit Samba, Sarpanches and Panches from whole of Samba district.

During the meeting, all the delegations projected their issues and demands, seeking action from government of India as soon as possible. The major demands and issues from all the delegations were speeding up the pending sanctioned projects in district Samba i.e. AIIMS, roads, bridges, culverts, infrastructure to the border peoples, special recruitment for Samba youth, transfer of Rasana probe to CBI, dismissal of the cases/FIR’s lodged during Shri Amarnath Ji land row of 2008, checking the pesticide factories in Samba which spread pollution in whole of the society, compensation to the farmers residing near International Border by farmer whose cultivated land was covered under fence, among others.

But the meeting took a strange turn when the two BJP men raised the same issues which were often raised with them when they were in power but have utterly failed to meet up to the expectations of people of area.

The case apparently has become the talk of every square in the town during the visit of the centre’s representative Sharma.

Dineshwar Sharma listened to all the delegations patiently and assured to handover all these memorandums to government of India along with their demands and issues too.
