DDC Rajouri inspects resurfacing work on NH 144-A

RAJOURI, JULY 17: District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad inspected the resurfacing/ macadamisation work on National Highway 144-A (Jammu-Poonch) on Nowshera-Rajouri stretch.

He was accompanied by ACD Dr Akhtar Hussain Qazi, DPO Dr Abdul Khabir and concerned officer from GREF authorities.

The DDC while stressing upon the importance of National Highway for twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch directed the concerned to expedite the resurfacing work upto Rajouri. He also impressed upon them to do the patch work on potholes upto Bhimber Gali at earliest for smooth traffic moment. Special stress was laid on macadamisation at Kallar stretch which is causing grave inconvenience to the commuters.

The DDC asked OC GREF for installation of road safety furniture including cat eyes, crash barriers, delineators and sign boards along full stretch of national highway falling in the district.

Earlier today the DDC visited Sheep and Animal Husbandry at Lam Darhal along with concerned officers. He inspected the sheds constructed for animals and also held interaction with farmers. He assured them of all type of assistance and motivated them to work with more dedication for better productivity. He said the area has huge potential for growth of dairy sector and directed the concerned to come up with proposals for setting up of more farms.
