Rahul Gandhi’s birthday celebrated in Pondy

Puducherry, June 19: All religious prayers, common feast and blood donations marked the 48th birthday celebration of AICC president Rahul Gandhi in the union territory of Puducherry on Tuesday.

Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee cut a 48 kg cake at the PCC office, organised special 'poojas' at the famous Manakkula Vinayagar temple and pulled the golden chariot , while the youth Congress organised blood donation camps and worships in churches, temples and mosques.

The celebrations were held in all the constituencies here.

The Puducherry Pradesh Fishermen Congress also organised a blood donation camp and held special worships in 48 temples in all the four regions of the union territory to mark the occasion.

Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, PCC president A Namasivayam and other Congress party leaders and functionaries participated in a function organised at the PCC office on the occasion.
