Bijbehara Grenade Blast toll reaches 10; 12 yrs old critical

Srinagar: Militants this afternoon hurled a Hand Grenade at Goriwan Chowk in Bijebehara.

Grenade exploded on the road amid the civilian population and some civilians received injuries and were immediately shifted to the Hospital for medical treatment.

Around ten persons have sustained injuries in this Grenade Blast. A young boy aged 12 from Zainpora Shopian identified as Fazal Ahmad son of Mohd Maqbool is stated to be critical while three other women Daizy Jan wife of Manzoor Ahamd, Rozy Akhtar daughter of Ghulam Ahmed resident of Hassanpora and Muneera Akhtar aged 20 years daughter of Abdul Rehman Dar resident of Sangam have also received injuries and have been shifted to the hospital for treatment. Six persons who suffered minor injuries in the grenade blast are being treated at a nearby hospital while the seriously injured persons including the 12 year old boy has been taken to Srinagar for advanced treatment.

Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation has started into the matter.
