Minorities community members call on Balbir

Jammu, May 09: Vice Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation, Balbir Ram Rattan, during his interaction with a group of the members belonging to the Minorities category, discussed various welfare schemes of the Corporation meant for the welfare of the Minorities in the state.

Balbir Ram Rattan, on this occasion, told these people that J&K SC, ST, BC Development Corporation is channelizing agency of six Apex Corporations of the Union government in Jammu and Kashmir State. Each of these six Apex Corporations works exclusively for a particular category. National Scheduled Castes Finance & Development Corporation (NSFDC) caters to the Scheduled Caste category, National Scheduled Tribes Finance & Development Corporation (NSTFDC) caters Scheduled Tribes category. Similarly, National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC) deals with Backward Classes, National Minorities Finance & Development Corporation (NMFDC) is meant for Minorities Notified at the National Level, National Safai Karamcharis Finance & Development Corporation (NSKFDC) serves Safai Karamchari category and Physically Disabled People are taken care by National Handicapped Finance & Development Corporation (NHFDC).

“As far Minorities, the Corporation provides financial assistance in the form of loan to the Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Parsi and Jains, which are Notified Minorities at the National Level”, Balbir told them and added that any unemployed male or female from among these communities can avail the loan to set up own earning unit. He further told them that the meritorious students from among them can go for higher professional & Technical studies under Education Loan Scheme of the Corporation.

The VC was assisted by Jammu District Manager Joginder Paul Atri, while those who called on him included Asad Mallick, Mahreen, Javed Rana and Sofia.
