Cry for death penalty to guilty in Kathu case gets louder at Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah Apr 19: Dozens of organizations on thursday staged protests in Bhaderwah to demand death penalty to those responsible for gangrape-and-murder of eight-year-old girl in Kathua. All community come together for the Justice of Kathua Rape and Murder Case of 8 year old girl at Bhaderwah.

“We want to be the part of campaign seeking death penalty to the rapists and murderers of eight year old Kathua victim. I think everyone should join this campaign for the larger interest of society,” said a protester.

The eight-year-old from a minority nomadic community had disappeared from near her home in a village near Kathua in Jammu region on January 10.

Her body was found in the same area a week later.

The state police's Crime Branch, which probed the case, filed a main chargesheet against seven persons and a separate chargesheet against a juvenile in a court in Kathua district last week.

The chargesheet revealed chilling details about how the girl was allegedly kidnapped, drugged and raped inside a place of worship before being killed.
