Three drug peddlers arrested in Agartala

Agartala, Apr 18: Three drug peddlers were arrested and a consignment of brown sugar was recovered from their possession in Bijoynagar colony of Ramnagar, here.
Based on specific intelligence inputs, BSF and police on Tuesday raided the locality and detained the trio.
Security forces recovered 10 small packets of brown sugar and Rs 21,120 from their possession.
The detainees were identified as Dil Kumar Uchai (18), Abel Uchai (19), both residents of Jatanbari under Gomuti district and Puspak Saha (27) of Town Pratapgarh of Agartala.
During interrogation, they provided information about main drug smugglers in Agartala area from where they procured the contraband.
Further initial drugs sampling and other formalities carried out by police confirmed the drug contents and an FIR was lodged under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
