Five killed in two road accidents in UP

Lucknow, Mar 18 : Five people, including three doctors of AIIMS, New Delhi, were killed in two separate road accidents on the expressway in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

An SUV, carrying six doctors from Agra to New Delhi, hit a truck from rear in which three were killed on the spot while three others, along with the driver, were injured.

Police here said the accident occurred near milestone 88 under Surir police station area of Mathura district on the Yamuna expressway at around 0230 hrs.

The deceased were identified as Dr Yashpal, Dr Harshad and D. Hembala while the injured Dr Katherine, Dr Mahesh and Dr Abhinav along with the driver Jitendra.

The doctors were returning from Agra after celebrating birthday of one of their colleague. The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Noida.

Meanwhile in another accident, two people were killed after after a highway patrolling car was hit by a speeding crane on Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Sabli Khera on Sunday morning.

Later, another vehicle turned turtle after hitting the car.

Both the deceased were yet to be identified while two other injured were admitted to the hospital.
